Nothing here is any more artful than say HALLOWEEN 4, and it's certainly nothing near as ambitious than Zombie's entries in the franchise. Instead it's a well made trace over, and reassures that this baseline portrayal of a voiceless, sluggish entity stalking and killing at random is as uninteresting as telling the audience that nothing that has happened in the last 40 years to Laurie Strode matters. The self referential material is no better than Williamson's pass in H20, and McBride's stamp on the script is obvious in the out of place cutaways of HBO humor. Cool scene with the motion sensor lights, tho.
