‘What kind of man makes a phone call like that?’
Fantastic setting and action. Beautifully made. Clint Eastwood kills more nazis than Indy does in Raiders of the lost ark and the last crusade combined. However the film has too much plot for what should be a straight forward man on a mission movie. Too many unnecessary twists and turns slow it down without the desired effect of making it smarter.
But all in all a solid dad movie.
My wife walking sitting herself down on the couch next to me about halfway through the movie: ‘’So are they alien clowns or aliens disguised as clowns?’ The age old question.
Got my hands on the Arrow Video blu and the ‘klown’ masks are just awesome to see in such detail. In fact it’s the production design that makes this movie, along with the score and tone.
I’ve watch this movie at least once a year (at the very least) and I still can’t wrap my head around what it does moment to moment. I’ll never stop trying to grasp how Miller uses action and momentum to craft character rather than plot. It’s a goddam magic trick that deserves every ‘best of the decade’ list that it tops.
