Michael Stuhlman’s review published on Letterboxd:
No one does batshit crazy like Takashi Miike, and while the movie may not have completely lived up to it's wild premise, it's still and engaging and fun to watch character study on modern masculinity. Some parts tend to drag a little bit, perhaps another round in the editing room might have improved its pacing, but other than that I have no other major complaints. The frog man is one of the best characters I've seen all year. Plus that final 5 minute contest was one of my favorite moments this year. Fans of the ridiculous will dig this one. If you can't suspend your disbelief it's better to avoid.
