This film is ridiculous in all the right ways. I don't know if Carpenter gets enough credit for his social commentary but this film captures the fear the of rising crime rates in urban areas at the time without seeming like he’s for some conservative tough on crime bs. The casting is perfect and dispite the low budget pulls off an extremely ambitious film world.
