Mike Yoong’s review published on Letterboxd:
Angelina Jolie was so magnetic and her well deserved Oscar winning performance here often feels like it should belong in a much better movie. Winona Ryder was also fun as hell to watch in her quirky sharp weirdness. Other than the two leads and occasionally Whoopi, everyone else is either just fine or even bad. There was a line towards the end that made me chuckle because the delivery was just so off.
The screenplay is occasionally witty but mostly just fine, predictable even. When it ended you really just feel like this could’ve been a fantastic dark character drama, especially with the talents involved. Oh well, still super entertaining and a breeze to watch through.
