The best thing about this movie was how good Hereditary was. The beats felt a little too similar and less surprising. Started off pretty interesting but MIDway, I sort of felt like everything was just a foregone conclusion. Each piece telegraphed something obvious I had to wait a painfully long time to see each plot point to play out the way I knew it would. (Love idol? - guess he's getting with her later. Oh this guy disappeared? Guess he's dead. Oh they are dancing to find their new queen? Gee, I wonder who that is going to be.)
I will say I respect the challenge of making a horror type movie in broad daylight and being effective.
Performances were great. Just felt bored.
