This movie... is deep.
It's such a specific story. Sound of metal is about much more than just a drummer who goes deaf.
But the thing they nailed with was the great use of sound to let the audience experience what the main character is going through. The direction and cinematography are as close to perfection as you can achieve.
The character development is so well done that you feel invested and have so much compassion and empathy to all characters. Riz Ahmed should at least be nominated for an Oscar. Every scene is just a fine masterpice of his performance.
The best movie of the year!
A movie to remember.
