I don't re-log movies I've already seen/rewatched
Underrated gem from the 2020s. Animation is marvellous looking and the humour is (perhaps unexpectedly) darkly hilarious. This took me back to some of the dark and quirky works of Roald Dahl.
It can get a bit frantic at times, which may turn off some, and I do think it runs a little longer than it needs to, but tonight's second viewing got almost as many laughs from me as the first viewing did. Check this out if you're in the mood for something a little different.
Honestly? I thought this was even better than the first one. It had just the right amount of weirdness and emotion for me. And I can't stress enough just how WEIRD this movie gets. It would make H.R. Pufnstuf blush.
Someone said that this movie felt like a two-hour long Loony Tunes cartoon, and I can certainly see where they're coming from. It's zany, freaky, and a total blast from beginning to end. It even tugs on the heartstrings more-so…
