Escape the Field 2022
I found out the hard way this movie is big medium ridiculous so if you watch it don’t go into it taking it too seriously. I kept saying “sure, why not” every time something happened because each time it was usually something that was increasingly asinine. This movie felt like it was done by improve, but in the way little kids play “ok but what if one of us has super strength” “ok but what if there was a secret map” and that’s how they figured out the plot of the movie.

Ginger Snaps 2000
Been meaning to watch this one for years and now I see why it’s on everyone’s list of must watch movies. Ginger Snaps really melds coming of age with horror where I typically think that can be over done because those tropes are so popular this is from a uniquely feminine lens that’s really entertaining and raw. The feral energy of coming into your own, finding yourself, going through puberty (0/10 would recommend) this isn’t just important because of its message. I think it’s also just a really entertaining watch.
