This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I would use it as background noise if I wanted a nostalgic Halloween experience, but otherwise it's not really good at all. The commercials are fun but make up most of the screen time and nothing really happens except for in the last few minutes.
I'm a fan of innovative horrors that use changes in modern society and culture to come up with new ideas or new ways to implement old tropes. I feel like this movie failed to do what movies like Unfriended had already accomplished before it. There were some cool ideas and fun things they played with that are specific to the program the characters are using to communicate, but overall it wasn't great.
This film went beyond My expectations and became one of My favourite dark comedies. Hilarious, fast-paced and cathartic for those who are tired of the world's bullshit and bureaucracy, and the entire cast had great chemistry all across the board (pardon the plot-relevant wordplay).
It's nice to see a movie with a good premise not drop the ball using it.
