The most pleasant of pleasant surprises at TIFF this year! This was the kind of festival experience I've been waiting for. Not that I haven't enjoyed my time so far BECAUSE I'M HAVING A BLAST. But I've been waiting for a time where I legitimately go into a film pitch dark blind and the film becomes one of my favourites. And here I am.
A true hidden gem, Plonger is some of kind of magic. It's such a beautiful, gorgeous film - the cinematography, the scenery, the settings, the emotional complexities, the nuanced performances from the two leads--wow! I'm intoxicated by Laurent's ability behind the camera here, what mystifying work.
I loved it. This'll stay with me.
