You know what is super great about this? It is soooo deeply a teen movie.
Without knowing anything about the original Spider-Man comics I was always given the impression he is supposed to be a teen or a very young man. I have only seen a few Spider-Man movies but I feel like he is represented as a "young adult" at best but in this he is an actual teen. A real teenager with real teenager problems that goes to a real teenager high school. And the movie is like a real teen movie. It's cute and funny and smart and age appropriate and I found it endearing and adorable.
In a lot of ways this makes me want to stop watching MCU movies for a while and just watch all my favorite teen movies instead.
