  To someone who knows absolutely nothing about the Mario game franchise (aka me) this sure is an acid trip of a film! Very pretty looking too, if only the actual games looked this gorgeous.
  In terms of a review; this is a kids movie based on a videogame, you get what you expect and clearly I am not the target audience for this. It was more fun than I thought it be though.

  Mia Goth, you are an icon and I love you 🖤 And Pearl (the film, but the character too) is truly something special. The most intimate and relatable horror film I have seen in a long time. It would be impossible for me to watch this film casually, I got absolutely sucked in and felt every second of it with my whole being.
