ingrid bergman broke my goddamn heart, and what a goddamn blessing to feel so sad because of such elegance & delicacy.
this is the epitome of lovely, but also so terribly sad. this film feels like it's on the cusp of eruption, and the only thing keeping the world together is untimely love and ache, a dull ache that you're only lucky enough to feel once in your whole entire life, and maybe that ache has a song, and it's the loneliest & loveliest sound you've ever heard --
