There was one big decision to be made here. Either go all in with the Goonies vibe and involve none of the original cast, or just include everyone from the jump.

The last 15 minutes, and I cannot state this hard enough, are JARRING. Like, you cannot be taken out of a movie in a more extreme way.

I found myself smiling pretty hard for the first hour or so; I was into the whole vibe. Mckenna Grace was nailing it, Paul Rudd did just enough Paul Rudd-y things; it was working.

Then it was like watching the 80-year old Rolling Stones attempting to play Satisfaction, but you're just like, "C'mon guys, Charlie Watts just died, you don't have to do this anymore."

It just seems like a bummer. I was really into it.

Also, they really didn't bring back Annie Potts for more than that one scene? When she showed up so early I thought she was there for the long haul. Justice for Janine!!!

AND LEST WE FORGET! Vigo was a better villain than Gozer. Who gives a fuck about Gozer? Justice for Vigo!!!
