I've copied this from elsewhere. It's an annual challenge to watch 52 Criterion films that fit particular categories. This is my second year trying it.

Until I've seen a film, I'm going to just fill the list with films that will not be mistaken for Criterion selections. That just makes it easier to fill it up. I reserve the right to watch these in any order, and shuffle things around (IE- If I list a 1960s sci-fi film as a sci-fi film, I could later choose to list it instead as a 1960s film.) I consider anything collected on a Criterion Laserdisc/ DVD/ Blu Ray, anything currently available on the Criterion Channel and anything hyperspecific (IE- if it's no longer available on a channel but it was on a list mentioned in the challenge) to be fair game, even if I watch in a different format (IE- standard DVD, movie theater, streaming elsewhere.)
