    Man, what a thing this is.

    I'd heard the praise, but aside from "Keanu sure does shoot those guys real good," I didn't know what to expect.

    Turns out, what they've done here is cook down the small-scale action picture into the most rich, unctuous, silky form possible.

    This feels like a classic myth, told in bullets.

    There is such economy to the story: King asks Force of Nature to grant him power; FoN agrees, but demands a fee.

    Look, I get it. I get why this was rhapsodized over as not only the best Marvel movie, but one of the best of the year.

    I just don't _agree_, is all.

    What we have here, in my minor opinion, is an overcorrection of sorts.

    Marvel flicks were for so long, and so widely, spoken of as having a 'villain problem' that the pendulum was always due to swing back.

    What a treat this was. Despite my goofing around here, this is a cast full of absolute BALLERS, with McAdams standing head and shoulders above a bunch of pros who fill every moment of this thing…
