NYFF59: #3 — Sunday September 26th, 2021
That’s a nope from me. Too lurid, too gross out, too voyeuristic. I’m no prude but I was just so so aware this was directed by a man. It was cold, I was cramped in a balcony seat, I wanted it to be over.
I’ve one nice thing to say: Bartolomea is a great name. It’s just so pleasant to say.

I was hooked from the first scene—despite looking nothing like a 50s nyc subway car, the camera’s movement captures exactly what the nyc subway feels like—a wandering eye, specificity in anonymity.
