I remembered this movie was okay, just rewatched for the first time and it's... a mess?
This is the movie I watch whenever I'm going through a rough patch. It always gets me. I read the book when I needed it the most and the movie became one of my all-time favorites. The amount that I can relate to Charlie is unreal. A beautiful movie, book, and message.
Not as bad as people said it was (Catwoman or Fantastic 4 bad), but that's not necessarily a good thing.
The comedy was so forced I cringed a couple times, and the third act made me roll my eyes.
Still watchable, though. CGI was pretty cool and Tom Hardy is very likable.
Go watch A Star is Born for quality filmmaking, go watch Venom to pass the time.
