Wonderful performances from Richard Attenborough and Kim Stanley caused claims for major awards. I would not go that far as I found the whole movie rather dour and lacking in that special something.
Although a typical nineties movie in look, this version of Narrow Margin is not a patch on the 1952 version starring Marie Windsor and Charles McGraw. I'm a big fan of Gene Hackman but in this rather drawn out affair aboard a Vancouver night train, even he can't bring it up to 'A' grade. The bad guys including James Sikking are all too typical of the time and Anne Archer looks the part but offers a very weak link to the whole affair. The action scene at the end is colourful but that's all. Stick with the original.

A very worthy watch.
Gareth Edwards was quoted as saying that he wanted Rogue One to be like the original Star Wars movies and to bring back those childhood memories. Rian Johnson said exactly the same about The Last Jedi and failed. Where Rogue One felt more like the originals than any of the later Star Wars movies, The Last Jedi feels more Disney and more American than ever.
The acting from Daisy Ridley, Laura Dern and especially amateur dramatics king Domhnall Gleeson is…
