However, the people who right off the damage this film did because of its "historical significance" and how revolutionary this film is are truly ignorant.     Throughout what I’ve seen of Cronenbergs work, he demonstrates an interest in both the contortions of the human body, and the affects of social and political landscapes. Though they’ve never come together like they have in this film. I could be wrong, but there seems to be two sides of his filmography. The body horror era, and the politically observant. With this film he’s bring those two eras together; creating one of my favorite films from him.
