Seeing this live back in the day was probably one of the best bits of television I've ever seen in my life.
Watching it again now, while cheesey as hell, it's still very cleverly made.
Wonderfully shot and it certainly made my home town of Dublin look good. But the first third of the film set in Dublin is mostly irrelevant to the plot.
While it was interesting to watch a film that certainly wasn't very predictable, I found Penn's quirky performance overly forced. It didn't bother me too much, but if it grates with you then you will hate this film.
