Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

    ★★★★

Sammy Raimi is back and wow when he’s allowed to shine, you can feel his vision come to life… a damn near great Marvel movie despite the macguffins and a lack of a bigger plan for the future of these Multiverse MCU movies but honestly this Doctor Strange sequel is better for it

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Someone finally discovered that Nicolas Cage was the national treasure after all, as a fan of great cinema, this one slaps! What a fun joyous ride with Pedro Pascasl being as delightful as he usually is.

Also it’s nice to know that peak cinema does include Paddington 2 as the top film!

  • Everything Everywhere All at Once

    Everything Everywhere All at Once

    ★★★★★

It’s a lot to process from a first viewing, but the Daniels have crafted a new age classic sci-fi film that echoes the works of Charlie Kaufman and various sci-fi classics of the early 2000 like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Matrix, Being John Malkovich in exploring the lines between our reality and the sci-fi genre of cinema. It’s something if you can go in cold because it’s a special movie wow

  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2

    Sonic the Hedgehog 2

    ★★★

I mean I think the first film is better paced as well as having better dialogue. What this movie has going for it is the dedication to making this a Saturday morning cartoon or the ultimate Power Rangers episode cause that third act is straight up a power rangers episode. I found myself being okay with a lot of the cringe because this is a movie made for kids and children will love this. Adults, ehhhhh, I had fun which is more than I can say about other Saturday morning cartoon movies

I hate to be that person but I laughed and I cried and I made so many precious memories with this film that I can not wait to enjoy again. I’m so glad I went in very very cold, only saw 1 trailer back in December for it and yeah guys, the Hype is real!

  • CODA

    CODA

    ★★★½

It’s a very indie movie feeling throughout CODA but I gotta say the pacing here is fantastic as the movie never gets to an uninteresting plot points or show the viewer something that doesn’t matter to the story… I just don’t think it’s best picture worthy to be honest but that doesn’t take away from the beautiful storytelling here and the wonderful performances from Troy Kotsur and Eugenio Derbez in particular shine all the way through

  • Sonic the Hedgehog

    Sonic the Hedgehog

    ★★★

It’s fun and a less painful franchise starter than many family films that offer the possibility of sequels… Ben Schwartz as Sonic and  Jim Carrey as robotnik are the films greatest asset but outside of that it’s a typical family studio film but way less painful than I imagined when I saw the first trailer for this back in 2019

An exquisite masterpiece about a master class on theater and performance…. Gosh what an absolutely stunning film

  • The Lost City

    The Lost City

    ★★★½

It’s a entertaining and very fun rom com full of the usual trophes with some excellent chemistry between our two leads Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. It’s not like anything you haven’t seen before but it’s a nice safe movie that doesn’t demand too much from the viewer

  • CODA

    CODA

    ★★★½

It’s a delightful little indie that features a great performance from Troy Krotsur as the dad who can remind a lot of us the power of humor

  • The Eyes of Tammy Faye

    The Eyes of Tammy Faye

    ★★★

The makeup is really cool and Jessica Chastain does give a remarkable performance, but similar to House of Gucci, it’s pacing drags at times and it’s clearly a film made to win and be nominated for several oscars
