Kwaidan

Kwaidan ★★★★½

Films can be very beautiful and this film proves that. The gorgeous set designs and vibrant colours this film depicts in sometimes chilling manner and the way it utilizes these aspects into symbolisms and metaphors is a testament to its director.

Seriously, this film is an eye candy. The production design and the lighting on the film makes it look like a beautiful painting.

Anyways, the film is separated into four self-contained stories. The second being the best out of the bunch for me. It's the one where the film uses its colours and set designs to great affect giving off this ominous atmosphere.

The last story was a bit disappointing which stalled this movie from becoming a 5/5 but overall, it's an amazing and seriously gorgeous film. A special mention should go to the musical score being so eerie.

So, 4.5/5
