Is this Godfrey Ho’s magnum opus? A girls-with-guns banger that liberally borrows from Woo, while jettisoning most of the melodrama for more fashion, more sleaze, more badass cool, more martial arts, and another gunfight every ten minutes or less. The lead trio of Maria Yuen, Yoko Miyamoto, and Sibelle Hu are having a blast being cool and killing with attitude, and have solid chemistry when they get to hang out (or square off). Shockingly well-directed, although I’m noticing how these mid-tier heroic bloodshed flick like to over-rely on slow motion and quick cuts between shooting guns/bullet impacts.
