After seeing Wendy & Lucy earlier this year I was really excited to see Certain Women, but unlike Reichardt's earlier movie I couldn't bring myself to care about a lot of what was going on here. I really enjoyed Kristen Stewart's story (a whole movie of it would have probably been four or five stars for me), and Laura Dern's was interesting enough, but Michele Williams' was so boring to me, and with it being in the middle of the film it sort of ruined the entire vibe.
I think I might have to rewatch this sometime when I'm more in the mood for something slow just to give it another chance. Til then, I'm allowing it half a star more than it probably deserves given how much I actually enjoyed it.
