You Were Never Really Here

You Were Never Really Here ★★★★

Impressive, brutal, harrowing filmmaking. Not always entirely my cup of tea, which left me mostly admiring rather than loving, but there were a few scenes that broke that divide - the one at the lake, which is really beautiful, and obviously the bit with the cat, because I'm me. Most of the soundtrack is really great (even as a Radiohead / Greenwood skeptic), and I generally appreciated the more abstract life-collage stuff. I wouldn't say that this was style-over-substance, just that for me personally the style resonated more than anything underneath.
