    I think I saw a different copy of the film than everyone else did. In my version of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the one that exists when I close my eyes and open my heart, those two kissed on that beach.

    I really disliked the first Venom but I found the way they leaned into the odd couple comedy in Venom: Please, Allow There To Be Carnage fairly entertaining.

    What's worse? Generational trauma inflicted by the patriarchy? Or that shit-pile of a roommate? Yeah alright, probably the first one. But it's close right?

    Something about settling into an Edgar Wright movie just gets me in the mood. They're all very rewatchable for me and this seems like the same. Even thinking back on the first watch and I'm noticing in hindsight how chock-a-block with little character details or foreshadowing each frame or line of dialogue held.

    I was rrreeeaaalll iffy on this movie after the opening but found myself pleasantly surprised by how much I was enjoying myself as it went along. The Babadook or It Follows this ain't. The real ghost/monster isn't a metaphor for the human condition. The real monster does parkour fights and that badass falling balcony stunt that Jet Li does in Cradle 2 the Grave.
