Really Love

Really Love

I feel so bad saying this but I found this extremely....mid. It pulls from different Black love movies from the 90s like Love Jones and Mo Better Blues but it doesn't really have anything to say on its own, if that makes sense...also the two leads didn't have any chemistry, I didn't see anything between them that made me think "Ok makes total sense that they're moving so fast."

Also, I'm sorry but Kofi Siriboe does not have the chops to carry a film. He is handsome yes, but has no charisma. I am now realizing just how much Bianca Lawson is carrying both of them in their scenes in Queen Sugar. Cinematography is nice though, and it is nice to see a movie set in DC that showcases DC proper, not just seat of government stuff. I feel bad because I really wanted to like this but...it's not giving what it's supposed to gave...
