Technical. Beautiful. So well done. The acting was great at times. The times it wasn't, I believe it wasn't supposed to be, so that's interesting. I really want to love this film. But I don't. But I really, really appreciate it. In my heart it's a solid 3 stars, but I want to give it 5 stars, because BRAVO.
This is the same way I felt after I watched The Master, Gravity, and to a lesser extent, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
In the end, it's a touch too pretentious for me, but it gripped me with it's talons and didn't let go the entire film.
The more I think about it, the more I like it, but I think I hoped it was going to be something else, which is more on me than on the film itself.
Upon thinking more about this film, I've upped my ranking on it and have given it a spot in my top 100. I may remove it tomorrow. I probably won't.
