I’ve always loved superhero films, especially ones which don’t really take itself ‘too’ seriously (hence why I adore the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy.) So when it comes to this film, I really enjoyed it. The amount of cultural impact it had was incredible, and finally took Batman in an interesting direction. However, the characterisation in this film just isn’t there. The character of Batman has hardly no personality, and is pretty one note, the same with Bruce Wayne. I enjoyed Joker…

Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975
Such a fun film. It has some amazing jokes, along with great physical comedy. Such a great comfort movie, and one I will definitely be watching again.

Memento 2000
Memento is by far my favourite Christopher Nolan film. It is such an original, unique film that’s so ingenious in its structure and ideas, that’s it’s really hard to find any flaws. The way it is crafted together is just absolutely amazing, and the film never feels like the choice of structure it has was pointless, it is always using it to it’s advantage. The script is also so smart, and is forever without any drops in pace. The performances…

Her 2013
God, Her is such a well crafted piece of cinema. It resonates with me really well, and I think it was basically written for me. It’s the perfect comfort movie to just be cozy with. Phoenix gives a phenomenal performance (as always) but what surprised me is Scarlet Johansson’s voice work. It’s seriously incredible what’s achieved. Amy Adams is also great, along with Chris Pratt, who’s in it for like, 3 minutes, but still! I adore the beautiful sets, and…

At Eternity's Gate 2018
I believe this film to be one of the most visually striking films to date. It has some of the best use of colour, camera work, and composition ever. And why shouldn’t it be, it’s the perfect film to do it with. It helps so much that the director is a painter himself, which is so nice. But, that’s not all. I really love Dafoe in this, and he gives such a real, captivating performance, again showing that he may…

I'm Thinking of Ending Things 2020
This is so bizarre and surreal I love it. It’s honestly as if I was hypnotised, waiting for the next weird and wacky thing to happen, but nothing ever felt out of place. Everything was crafted with so much care, and thought out so well. I think I’m just into stuff like this, I enjoy surrealism, and mystery. Loved it!

You Were Never Really Here 2017
This film is like a really arthouse version of Taken. It has hardly any dialogue, so the long, silent scenes were just so amazing and beautiful. When there were dialogue, however, it can be a bit of exposition, but what’s surprising is there’s not as much exposition as you’d think, which was nice, but it did leave me a bit confused at where I was in the scene. Phoenix gives an outstanding performance, along with the rest of the small…

The Revenant 2015
I adore the camera work in this film, and the long takes were outstanding. I love the idea of using natural light for the visuals, and the cinematography in general was by far the best thing about this film. But, in my opinion, the run time just really dragged. DiCaprio gives an outstanding performance, along with all of the cast, although, Hardy does fall into what I like to call, the Hardy mumble, which happens in most films he’s in…

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World 2010
Liked it a bit more the second time. It’s basically the epitome of eye-candy. Also, forgot how funny it was!
