Kiki's Delivery Service

Kiki's Delivery Service ★★★★★

Kiki’s Delivery Service was released in 1989 and it was directed by Hayao Miyazaki and its about a young witch and she is going out into the world because that’s what witches do at her age. While I don’t feel it was as strong as the other movies i’ve seen so far I still think this is a masterpiece in many ways.

The everything: the animation is at its strongest in this movie especially those scenes when Kiki is high in the air on her broom and you can see everything. This is the most normal Ghibli movie. I mean the only kinda odd thing is the fact that witches exist but besides that this is a slice of life movie which I adore. Not a lot happens in this movie besides the climax which I found to be cool. Out of all the Ghibli movies this is definitely the most kid friendly Ghibli movie which again I have no problem with. Kiki is a fucking brilliant protagonist she is so goddamn charming and relatable. In fact that’s a word that I can use to describe this movie "charming” the city feels so alive living in it sounds exciting. Also is the cat not talking anymore supposed to represent her growing up? Or losing her magic? Because I didn’t understand it

Sorry this isn’t a long review I don’t have too much to say about this movie. Go check it out! Next is the movie "Only Yesterday”
