Spike Lee has not been this relevant in a long time. "Chi-Raq" is a return to form for the old firebrand. He taps into the zeitgeist and delivers a nasty assault on gun violence in the city of Chicago. This is muckraking cinema we sorely needed this season.
Teyonah Parris as Lysistrata is the MVP of the motion picture. I am not sure why she has not been apart of the awards talk in 2015.
