I know it's a cliche to call "Trumbo" a made for television movie, but it really seems like it is. It has a story and it tells it well, but in the broadest way possible. While I was watching it I felt like I have jumped in a time machine and ended up in front of a television set in 1995 with HBO turned on a Saturday night.
Stick with the 2007 documentary.
