David Jurmann’s review published on Letterboxd:
Holmes and Watson is a very bad film that wastes the great cast's time, the audience's time, and their brain cells as well. I honestly wouldn't say the film is as bad as many have led me to believe, but it's really dumb and doesn't deserve money or attention. Nearly every joke fell flat, and the ones that didn't were mostly unintentional. The film has so many problems, and by far one of the biggest is the fact that it rarely knew what it was. It was a Sherlock Holmes comedy, but it didn't know if it was trying to be edgy, smart, or what time period it was even in. The movie really only has one redeeming quality and that's Will Ferrell and John C Reilly's chemistry. But that's all Holmes & Watson can offer besides jokes that are legitimately dumber than dumb.
