For a movie so predicated on eroticism and sexual exploits it sure is fitting that those are the most out of place elements within the framework of the actual narrative. Truly baffled at some of the characterization here and how there’s virtually no exploration into the psychology of any of these people. Feels like Fennell wrote down a million different themes and just said fuck it I’ll go with all of them. Jacob Elordi and his eyebrow piercing are great. Good looking film.

Scorsese’s sensitivity for these subjects really shines though there’s something about the way he presents this story that doesn’t feel as succinct as his recent works. Warrants a second viewing. Loved the performances.

Cailee and Jacob bring something so ingenious to these roles that it completely recontextualizes everything we know about Priscilla and Elvis. couldn’t take my eyes off them.

Met Josh Safdie in the Alice Tully lobby beforehand and was too high on that to comprehend any of this. The projection and orchestra was neat.

Material I feel like Haynes has flirted with in the past but handled/performed in such a completely different manner. Give Charles Melton every award for his ill-postured sniffling.
