A prime example of the classic “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” method, “Creed III” continues to offer what many love seeing from this franchise by this point and while a lot is admittedly familiar, it’s still no less satisfying to watch. But on the plus side, Michael B. Jordan (in his shining directorial debut) brings a lot more raw, personal stakes to the mix and expands upon Adonis’s story in very rich, utterly compelling ways. And in between its beautifully-drawn, emotional character moments and the thrilling, immensely entertaining boxing scenes that Jordan stages terrifically, this makes for yet another worthy addition to the franchise that certainly packs in a huge impact by the end.
