I liked the random spurts of violence. The thing that irritated me was that the golem could have been destroyed very easily at anytime, but the rabbi and the rest of the community thought they had to destroy it by doing this long/complicated ritual that didn’t end up working...mind you they were engaging in this ritual exactly when the town was being destroyed by the people the golem was created to protect the town from. So town being destroyed and the community leaders (all men) were trying to destroy their protector...I’m sure this is supposed to be some religious methaphor. There is some beautiful cinematography scattered about. I just didn’t like the plot and the religious dogma.
