As a way of a teaser leading up to the recording of our annual extended special episode, reviewing our selection of our preferred 'best' films of 2016, we've put together this 'eligibility list'. Essentially, this is our combined long-list of all the films we watch prior to whittling down and locking our respective Top 10 lists.
So, in alphabetical order, this list features all of the films released in the UK - be it cinema, BD/DVD or video-on-demand - in the calendar year 2016 which are eligible for consideration to make it into our final, individual top ten favorite films of the year lists.
See notes as to who has seen each title e.g. Lee, Michael or both. And feel free to recommend any 'must-see' films for us to try and cram in before our self-imposed deadlines. Lee will be locking his list on the evening of December 31st whilst Michael will use some of January 2016 to squeeze in his final viewings.
What did we make of the past twelve months in film? What were our most pleasant surprises, our biggest disappointments and our worst films of the year? Which of these films, listed below, will make it into our respective Top 10s, what films will narrowly miss out but still be deemed worthy of an honourable mention? And finally, what will we each pick as our number 1 film of the year? Look out for our annual 'Films of the Year' epic episode in the New Year to find out...
