Classic adventure movie about Cold War espionage, the nuclear deterrent and deep sea salvage. The search for the world’s most famous shipwreck proves more of a challenge than even Dirk Pitt (great name,right?) could imagine. And the special effects are pretty impressive - for the most part - given the scale of what is being depicted. The author of the source novel hated it, and it flopped at the box office, but Raise the Titanic is a lot of fun.
I’m not a fan of Harry Potter, but I really enjoyed Fantastic Beasts. It’s the beasts that really sell this, all of whom are beautifully brought to life. Not to mention the quirky, fish-out-of-water feel to the story. It was clever to set this in the 1920’s, not exactly an understanding time. ‘Backward’ would be a good way to describe it!
