Ryan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Tomorrow night (well, today technically, it’s 3 am) is the big night, so I did some homework real quick.
I get something new out of this every time, and this time around I appreciated the pacing the most. Even at the height of my investment in this story, it’s such a long and ambiguous film that it’s easy to get lost in some scenes, but I was completely invested all the way through, PTA has mastered the whole scene to scene perfection thing.
I think it’s important to note how well the extras and single line of dialogue actors do here, for a film about duality in man, it spreads out a deadpan ensemble over 140 minutes effortlessly. How a studio could produce such a film boggles my mind.
