MoviePenguin’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is undoubtely Tarantinos love letter to Hollywood, and it really shows in a lot of places.
It has some funny and quite good scenes, but they are too far apart.
Considering the long runtime, I had hoped it would have been more smooth and entertaining throughout.
But I ended up mostly having a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.
I knew what he was trying to do with a lot of the scenes, but some of them just didn't connect with me and they ended up dragging the movie down.
The movie was at least 40 minutes too long, and would have had a much better pace if some of the scenes were edited down or scrapped all together.
The only part of the movie I really can't complain about, are the last 30 minutes.
Those I thoroughly enjoyed.
But it wasn't enough to save my experience.
It is an okay movie for those interested in Tarantino, but it was a dissapointing movie considering what brilliant work he has done before.
I will probaly give it a rewatch in a year or two with fresh eyes though.
