Movies “Mofa” Fan123’s review published on Letterboxd:
I thought it was quite good! I don’t really know what critics are on about. It’s definitely messy in places but it was a nice step in the right direction I think. The characters are great. Surprised people are calling them bland. I thought they all had time to shine even though there were so many of them. It definitely felt more focused on characters than action. Which I thought was still pretty good. There were some cool action scenes. But I’m glad it never became a cgi mess. The whole cast does a good job too. I hope the negative reviews don’t stop them from returning. But since it did well at the box office I think they will. And hopefully Zhao returns for a sequel. I felt like like she really had a good vision with this film. Some things could’ve been improved on. It did feel messy at times. Maybe it was a bit too long and the beginning was a bit slow. But I really respect what she did here. The direction was quite good too. I also think a sequel will be better now they these characters have been established. I just found the different layers to it interesting. It was even emotional at times. It’s not perfect bht I think the fact that it took risks really made me like it even more. Each character was great for me. I thought they all worked and I cared for them. I just find the whole concept of the Eternals quite interesting. I just hope that the negative reviews do t make it so that we get more Marvel movies like Black Widow instead of ones like this that take risks.
