Even nostalgia can’t fully save this one-
Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace is an alright film. I don’t know it isn’t as horrible as some say but not as good as some say either. The special effects aren’t too good. The plot isn’t the best. The dialogue is awful. The acting is mixed. But it’s mostly fun and I do have fond memories of it. The final Lightsaber battle is also epic. This could’ve been so much better. Like so much better. I don’t know what George Lucas was thinking. He definitely could’ve done a better job with this. I think he was too focused on his love for cgi. Liam Neeson is probably the best part. He is really awesome. I love Ewan McGregor as well. Wish he is in this one more tho. The rest of the acting is not quite up to standers. It just falls kind of flat. The idea are all good for the most part. Everything is in place just the actual execution could’ve been so much better. Darth Maul is an awesome villain even if he isn’t used properly and is kind of wasted. He should’ve had an actual character arc and he should’ve had more dialogue. He’s still really cool tho. The movie looks pretty in parts and not so pretty in parts. It especially drags in the middle but I still have a fun time with it. I don’t know I enjoy it for what it is. Not too good but bad at all either. Overall Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace is just okay.
