MovingPictures’s review published on Letterboxd:
En enda natt/ONLY ONE NIGHT (1939) Sweden, b/w 89m.
Directed by Gustaf Molander after a novel by Harald Tandrup.
Cast; Ingrid Bergman, Edvin Adolphson, Aino Taube,
Olof Sandberg and Erik 'Bullen' Berglund.
A film with class-conscious content set in a romantically aspiring form.
A bit different, but not too much. Edvin Adolphson is good all through.
Ingrid Bergman has a few good moments, but the film generally belong to the men, not unlike the world. Perhaps Aino Taube has the better female role here.
OK, never boring, although never exciting either.
