Max Oxley’s review published on Letterboxd:
Look, maybe I'm just a dumb slut for mumblecore, but this is really fucking good. Swanberg's funniest, most structured and most cinematic feature to date, which I guess makes its netflix-only release slightly ironic, but man. The final 20 minutes are genuinely very tense; who knew Joe could do tension! I can't remember the last time I was praying this hard for a film to have a happy ending. Jake Johnson for LIFE by the way, dude never gives a bad performance, but this is his greatest yet. The best netflix original since Barry and I wouldn't object to Swanberg working out a multiple-picture deal with them, I think it's a good fit.
P.S. - why are there dice on the poster when Eddie only plays poker? Scientists, get on this!
