Chad Webb’s review published on Letterboxd :
Tom Cruise shows up in appropriate bad-a$$ attire and attitude, but the direction and plot do not match up to his enthusiasm for the titular character. Writer/director Christopher McQuarrie fails to inject the script with sufficient energy and power. It moves along at sluggish, lethargic pace and never wavers from that despite some passable action scenes that could have been better. Rosamund Pike is incredibly hot and the cars are cool to admire, but this was a disappointment. They also underused a devilish Werner Herzog. The running time could have been shortened a bit and the intriguing mystery plot needed some oomph.
