You have the right to... suck my dick, motherfucker!
I loved the 2003 animated TV show Clone High and it's irreverent humor. It had a funny original concept and was able to take a satirical look at almost every teen drama trope in existence in a mere 13 episodes. Phil Lord and Chris Miller went from that to directing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I liked that film a great deal, but thought it missed a lot of the edginess of Clone High while still containing some of it's comedic style.
Enter 21 Jump Street and their first effort to direct anything live action. Lord and Miller end up being the perfect choice to direct this film. It feels like a natural evolution of what Clone High was. They're able to use their already established talents to satire high school dramas and also turn that onto 80s cop dramas. The result is the funniest surprise of 2012 and Channing Tatum's breakout performance (sorry Magic Mike).
