For some reason the only thing I knew about From Beyond was that Charles Band had a producer's credit on it, which didn't exactly put it on my priority watch list. More of a "I'll watch it when I watch it" list. So we started it and the first thing I say is "Holy shit that's Jeffrey Combs!" Then Ken Foree's name in the opening credits! Wait-a-minute... directed by Stuart Gordon!
Little did I know this was Gordon's followup to Re-Animator and that it not only lived up to those expectations but surpassed them. This also has to be the greatest film Charles Band was ever lucky enough to produce (or just get a producer's credit... whichever).
It wastes no time diving into the weird with Jeffrey Combs smack dab in the middle of it all. Plenty of gore, weird mutations, brains being sucked out of eyeball sockets and a little S&M thrown in to make sure there's something for everyone.
