Amazing Grace, come sit on my face...
Call me crazy, I've always liked this one. You get to see what John Carpenter comes up with for a movie he doesn't even want to exist. They couldn't convince him to direct it though. The stuff I like: A police manhunt for Michael Myers right from the get go, more Donald Pleasence, director Rick Rosenthal trying to get artsy with those Laurie Strode flashback scenes, it's bloody and exploitative... and that final fire stunt is insane. You don't see shit like that in movies anymore.
Don't get me wrong, it doesn't hold up to the original, but I enjoy the hell out of it and think it doesn't get a fair shake in the slasher genre.
